The Events Manager at the Sands Centre plays a pivotal role in coordinating logistics, managing resources, and overseeing event teams to guarantee the seamless flow of concerts, shows and events. What you’ll do:

  • Co-ordinate the seamless delivery of our extensive programme of concerts, shows and events. Ensuring excellent Front of House Operations and exceptional customer service.
  • Keep track and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) related to partner collaboration, client satisfaction, and event success, providing reports that inform decision-making and future strategies.
  • Act as an advocate for accessibility initiatives, ensuring the theatre is compliant with relevant regulations and continuously seeking ways to improve accessibility for all patrons.
  • Lead on implementing and updating policy and procedure as it relates to our Audiences and Front of House Operations taking a pragmatic approach to this and using your real world experience to inform how we operate.

The Senior Technician position at the Sands Centre is a vital and dynamic role that supports the successful delivery of a wide range of events through technical expertise and precision. As a Senior Technician at the Sands Centre, you will be at the core of our operations, ensuring all technical elements are set up, operated, and maintained to the highest standards In this role, you will take responsibility for overseeing technical systems, coordinating equipment and resources, and supporting technical teams to ensure the seamless execution of concerts, shows, and events. The Senior Technician plays a key role in troubleshooting, maintaining safety standards, and delivering high-quality production experiences.

If you are a skilled and detail-oriented professional with a passion for live events, the Sands Centre offers an environment where your technical expertise and leadership will thrive.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Facilitate the needs of incoming productions during their visit to our venue, ensuring that the production is ready for Show Time.
  • Lead the load in, show running and load out of productions, acting as the venue representative for our technical department and taking the lead with both local and touring crew to guarantee a successful operation in line with the venue safety procedures.
  • Lead a team of local crew and help with the day-to-day operations of the technical department including maintenance tasks, training and crew development.
  • Operate sound and/or lights for touring and in-house productions, including our Pantomime.
  • Undertake industry relevant training courses as part of continuous professional development.

The Stage crew position at the Sands Centre is a vital and dynamic role that supports the successful delivery of a wide range of events. As a Stage crew at the Sands Centre, you will assist the technical team in the smooth running of the technical operation. With the opportunity to work on large scale theatre productions and live music shows while progressing your own knowledge and skills base with the support of the technical team.  

 
 

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Assist the Technical manager and senior technicians on the delivery of live events, working on Load in’s /out’s and the opportunity to perform a wide variety of roles during shows including operating sound, lighting, stage crew and wardrobe. 
  • ensure exceptional customer/client experiences during all events by implementing proactive problem solving. 
  • maintain good communications with on site and external teams to assist with a smoothly ran event.   
  • maintain the health and safety of the venue and users by always adhering to the company's risk assessments and safe systems of work.   
  • Work towards the common goal of providing arts and culture as an enrichment activity to customers, improving their mental health and well-being. 
  • undertake any other duties as deemed and directed by the Theatre Technical Manager or Senior Technicians.

The Events Steward position at the Sands Centre is a critical role to ensure audience safety and a smooth operation in the lead up to, during and immediately following live shows and events at our venue. As an Events Steward you will be a front-line ambassador for our venues, and hundreds of touring events and artists. In general operations you will act as the first and last point of contact for our audiences and will be responsible for delivering an excellent customer experience from start to finish.
 
 
What you’ll do:
 
  • Act as a front line ambassador for an audiences helping deal with queries quickly and efficently ensuring a high quality customer experience from start to finish.
  • Assist the Events Manager in the safe and quick load in and out of audiences for live shows and events at The Sands Centre.
  • Undertake duties related to our front of house operation including ticket scanning, ID Checks, exit leafleting etc.
  • maintain good communications with all teams involved in live events including technical, food & beverage, box office and management.
  • maintain high standards of cleanliness within the auditorium before, during and after live shows and events.

the efficient delivery of catering services across events and daily operations. The post holder will assist with the preparation and set-up of food and beverage service areas, undertake basic food preparation, and serve customers in a polite, professional and customer-focused manner.
 
What you’ll do:
*     Be a friendly and welcoming face to visitors and customers at the facility
*     To undertake the preparation, serving and delivery of food and drinks.

Cleaning Assistant

£13.45 Per Hour

We are looking to expand our team of hardworking casual Cleaning Assistants, working from The Sands Centre in Carlisle. You’ll be enthusiastic and hard-working with a real attention to detail as you’ll assist the cleaning supervisor with the day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of the venue, including our auditorium, backstage and other public areas. 
  
The Sands Centre is an extremely busy entertainment venue, with high footfall, so you’ll need to thrive in this setting and take pride in making sure areas are clean and tidy for our artists and customers alike. Adhering to Health and Safety requirements and regulations is crucial, so you’ll need to be hard working and conscientious to carry out all duties to meet our high standards. 
  
Ideally, you’ll have experience of cleaning in a busy working environment with good customer care skills and knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Heath). If you don’t yet, have it, we’ll provide full training on how to use appropriate machinery and chemicals. 
 
What you’ll do: 
 
  • Assist the cleaning supervisor in making sure that all areas of the venue and clean and presentable for visiting productions and our audiences after each show.  
  • ensure exceptional standards are maintained.
