The Senior Technician position at the Sands Centre is a vital and dynamic role that supports the successful delivery of a wide range of events through technical expertise and precision. As a Senior Technician at the Sands Centre, you will be at the core of our operations, ensuring all technical elements are set up, operated, and maintained to the highest standards In this role, you will take responsibility for overseeing technical systems, coordinating equipment and resources, and supporting technical teams to ensure the seamless execution of concerts, shows, and events. The Senior Technician plays a key role in troubleshooting, maintaining safety standards, and delivering high-quality production experiences.

What you’ll do:
- Facilitate the needs of incoming productions during their visit to our venue, ensuring that the production is ready for Show Time.
- Lead the load in, show running and load out of productions, acting as the venue representative for our technical department and taking the lead with both local and touring crew to guarantee a successful operation in line with the venue safety procedures.
- Lead a team of local crew and help with the day-to-day operations of the technical department including maintenance tasks, training and crew development.
- Operate sound and/or lights for touring and in-house productions, including our Pantomime.
- Undertake industry relevant training courses as part of continuous professional development.

What you need:
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the set up and operation of sound and/or lighting lighting equipment.
- Knowledge of the systems and technology used in live production and theatre.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain composure and productivity under tight deadlines.
