Title: Dvořák’s Symphony No.8
Antonín Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony is a treasure trove of some of the composers most compelling melodies. A piece that’s warm and outgoing, it’s also a work that channels a strong feeling of affection for the composers home country, with depictions Czech country life, rustic dances and more. We’ve a captivating opening in the shape of The Water Goblin, about a mischievous water goblin who traps drowning souls in upturned teacups (!), and welcome soloist Alexander Gadjiev for Chopin’s charming second piano concerto.
Concert lasts around 2 hours including a 20 minute interval.
