Released in 1987,Popped In Souled Out was the album that introduced Wet Wet Wet to not only a national audience, but a global one too. It reached No.1 on the UK Albums Chart and featured the hit singles “Wishing I Was Lucky”, “Sweet Little Mystery”,“Angel Eyes” and“Temptation”. The record went multi-platinum in the UK and established the band as one of the key British acts of the late 1980s,whilst breaking into the Billboard Charts in the USA.
Having spent over 70 weeks on the UK albums chart, Wet Wet Wet’s debut album laid the groundwork for continued success, with the band enjoying many further hit albums and singles, including the number 1’s“With A Little Help From My Friends”, “Goodnight Girl” and“Love Is All Around”,their ubiquitous cover of The Troggs’ 1960s song.
Across two extensive UK touring runs in February and October 2027,the band will perform songs from Popped In Souled Out alongside a catalogue of beloved hits spanning their remarkable career. The show will celebrate both where it all began, as well as what followed.
